Sphere not
Posted on Feb 08 2012
This interactive art installation (Karina Smigla-Bobinski) is made from an enormous helium-inflated sphere trapped inside a small room that’s spiked with dozens of protruding charcoal pieces which scrape the edges of the gallery wall as participants push, toss, and otherwise manipulate it. It’s fascinating to me that even with the size and the constraints of the sphere and room, the final outcome requires the participation of hundreds of gallery visitors. I love me some good interaction.
